Product details
Thyristor is the abbreviation of crystal thyratron. It is also called silicon controlled rectifier (SCR). Thyristor is a four-layer semiconductor structure (PNPN). It has three poles: Anode, cathode and control electrode. Thyristor possesses the characteristics of silicon rectifiers and can work under high voltage and high current. Its working process can be controlled. So, it is widely used in electronic circuits such as controlled rectifiers, AC voltage regulation, non-contact electronic switch, inversion, frequency conversion, etc.
Conduction of thyristor should meet the following conditions: There is forward voltage and gate triggering current. Derived devices include fast thyristor, two-way thyristor, reverse conducting thyristor and light-triggered thyristor. It is a high-power switch-type semiconductor device. It is represented by symbols “V” and “VT” in circuits (SCR in old standards).
Its anode and cathode connect to the power supply and load to form the main circuit of the thyristor. The gate and cathode of the thyristor connect to the device that controls the thyristor to form the control circuit of the thyristor.
